Michelle Boyle is a professional artist who works between her studios near Virginia Cavan and the Blackchurch Print Studio in Temple Bar. She works predominantly in painting and drawing and her work is well represented in major collections in Ireland and overseas. In 2014 she was selected to represent Ireland with UNESCO alongside 30 International Artists and also to the Leonardo Life Long Learning Programme in Estonia. She continues to develop her own working practice, engaging directly with diverse artistic practices to expand her own knowledge and studio exploration.
In 2005 Michelle founded Whitethorn Studios to provide a space to meet a rural need for quality and accessible art courses to the Cavan/Meath/Westmeath hinterland. The courses are run by full time established artists who have an enthusiasm for making art and sharing their working practices with others. Michelle organises art courses in Ireland and overseas and is a guest tutor with The National Gallery of Ireland.
